Legacies includes so much more to discover - whether it's the Boomerang, Katana, new mobs, music discs, lore books and more to discover. This page is dedicated to highlighting just a few of the many cool features included in Legacies.

Mechanics

Here are some of the mechanical improvements included as part of Legacies.

Seasons

Legacies has shifting seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. These seasons affect both the world around you, and the growth speed of various crops.

Enchantment Descriptions

When hovering over enchanted books or items in the inventory, you can hold shift in order to view enchantment descriptions.

Combat Overhaul

Combat in Legacies has seen significant revision, with every tool having new damage values, attack speed, and in some cases even increased/decreased reach.

Furthermore, numerous quality-of-live improvements have been made, such as the ability to swing through grass.

Armor Changes

Armor has been completely rebalanced. Vanilla armor values have been re-adjusted, and toughness now applies a bonus to defence based on the remaining durability of your armor pieces.

Hunger Rework

Saturation no longer increases regen speed. You are now always able to regenerate health slowly, provided you have enough hunger points to sprint. Regenerating health will directly consume hunger points.

Wandering Traders

Wandering Traders are now far more useful, with completely overhauled trades from the Villager Trade Rebalance alongside all-new ones, such as Dungeon Explorer Maps and Tablets of Recall/Revealing/Haste

Music Improvements

In addition to the plethora of new music added by Legacies, additional quality-of-life improvements have been remade in regards to music.

• music now plays whilst the game is paused
• you can now view the name and author of the currently-playing music track by checking the top-left corner of the pause menu
• music now plays more frequently
• background music no longer interrupts jukeboxes

Server Pause

When playing on a multiplayer server, time will pause whilst all players are offline. Furthermore, if all players currently present in a server are paused, the server itself will pause, similarly to in singleplayer.

Items

Here are a few cool new items you can find or craft whilst adventuring in Legacies.

Boomerang

Arguably the most unique new weapon, with 4 exclusive enchantments. Found in Dungeons, Boomerangs travel far and spin fast - the longer they fly, the more damage they do. Whilst you'll have to find most of their enchantments in the world, they can get Rebound from the enchanting table, and also work with Flame, Freeze, Decay, Rejuvenate and Featherweight.

Katana

Strikes fast and has the ability to block like a shield. The Dueling enchant allows you to take reduced knockback, and the Relentless enchant rewards you for comboing your foes.

Legacies includes many new Music Discs to find.

Infinite Spooky Amethyst (Judio Kallio) - found in Pale Cabins

Castles (Soul_) - found in Simple Dungeons

Svall (Soul_) - found in Mineshafts

Shulker (T_en_M) - found in End Cities

Tundra (T_en_M) - found in Igloos and Frozen Dungeons

Far Lands (Steelman) - re-assembled from disc fragments found throughout the Overworld

Fausse Vie (Zhen) - found in Catacombs

Ossuaire (Zhen) - found in Catacombs

Stasis (Zhen) - found in Snowy Ruins

Tablets

Tablets are single-use consumables with varying times to use. If you are hit while using a totem, the activation is cancelled and you must try again. Tablets can be found from specific world structures, depending on the tablet in question.

Tablet of Recall | After a long use duration, you are teleported to your spawn point. Does not work between dimensions.

Tablet of Revealing | After a short use duration, all nearby entities are revealed through the Glowing effect.

Tablet of Haste | After a short use duration, apples the haste effect.

Tablet of Levitation | After a short use duration, launches you into the sky.

Tablet of Deafening | After a long use duration, lets out a shriek and gives all nearby entities Darkness, Weakness and Slowness for a short time.

Tablet of Channeling | After a long use duration, thunder roars and a storm appears.

Lore Books

Many structures now have a very low chance to contain a lore book, a written book with a short excerpt of lore embedded. There are quite a few, and are designed to complement the very minimalistic and open-ended lore and story of the base game in similar ways.

There are a total of 23 books to discover.

Mobs

Here is just a small selection of the many new mobs added as part of Legacies.

Mooblooms

Mooblooms have been added to the game, with a multitude of variants for different flowers.

Penguins

Penguins are awesome, and work just as you'd expect - they follow your boat and boost your speed when in one. They're also incredibly cute.

Rascal

Find these guys whilst exploring caves - find them enough times and you'll even earn some loot!

Copper Golem

Place a copper block, carved pumpkin and lightning rod atop one another to create a Copper Golem.

Glare

Found in lush caves, this mob will guide you to dark areas to help you work out where monsters can spawn.

Wildfire

Native to the Citadel structure, Wildfire's can be a challenging blaze-like enemy to fight.

New Illagers

Such as the Mauler, Iceologer or Illusioner.

New End Mobs

Such as the Rubblemite or Rustle.
