Claiming from the atlas
Claim mode, what the map shows and what the messages mean.
Claims on the map
Every claim shows on the atlas, hatched, with a line round its edge.
- Your own claims and your party's are drawn stronger than other players'.
- Forceloaded chunks are cross-hatched.
- Other players' claims only show in areas you have explored. Yours and your party's always show.
- Hover a claim to see its name, its owner, its owner's party and whether it is forceloaded.
- Hiding the markers with the eye bookmark hides the claims too, except in claim mode.
- The claims also show on the atlas when you hold it.
Claim mode
Click the flag bookmark, Claim Land, to turn claim mode on, and again to turn it off. Choosing another bookmark, such as adding a marker, turns it off too.
- A dashed line marks your claim range. Chunks outside it are faded.
- Click a chunk to claim it.
- Drag over several chunks to claim them all at once.
- Click one of your own chunks to unclaim it, or start a drag on one to unclaim several.
- Right-drag still moves the map.
The plate at the bottom left shows how many claims you have and your limit. When a claim is refused, it also shows why for a few seconds.
| Message | Means |
|---|---|
| Too far away | The chunk is outside your claim range. Walk closer. |
| Already claimed | You already own the chunk. |
| Not your land | Another player owns the chunk. |
| Not claimed | You tried to unclaim a chunk nobody owns. |
| No claims left | You reached your claim limit. |
| Too many chunks at once | The area is larger than Open Parties and Claims allows in one request. |
| Land here can't be claimed | Claims are turned off in this dimension. |
