Sculptures
Photographing familiars and turning the photos into sculptures.
Familiar Camera and photos
The Familiar Camera and the photos it takes are provided by Familiars Lib, so they work with familiars from any mod. A photo remembers everything about the familiar at that moment (its colors, hat, weapon and pose), and that's what the Sculpture Station uses.
Sculpture Station
The Sculpture Station turns photos into sculptures. It looks like a lectern with an item frame on top, and it's run by two of your familiars: a druid that carves the sculpture and an illusionist that paints it.
Placing it: the lectern faces you, and the sculptures are made behind it. It needs:
- Free space on both of its sides (2 blocks tall), where the familiars stand.
- A free 3x3x3 space behind it, the work area.
Blocks can't be placed in that space afterwards.
Using it: right-click the station to open it.
- Familiars (right side): pick a druid and an illusionist from the familiars you carry and assign them. They leave your familiars and stand at the station's sides until you unassign them. The first player to assign a familiar claims the station; it's free again once both are unassigned. If the station is broken, its familiars go back to their owner, even if they're offline.
- Photos (left side): every photo of a familiar in your inventory. Hover over one to see its tooltip, and click it to choose it. The chosen photo is shown in the station's item frame for everyone.
- Preview (center): the sculpture at the chosen size on a 5x5 checkered plate, so each tile is one block. Drag it to turn it.
- Size: drag the slider to choose how big the sculpture will be. Its width and height can be anywhere between half a block and 3 blocks, and the slider shows the exact size, hat and weapon included.
- Sculpt: starts the sculpture. The work area must have room for it, so remove the last sculpture first.
Sculpting: the druid casts a spell and a wooden sculpture grows in the work area, made from wood the color of the druid's wood. Then the illusionist casts its own spell and paints the sculpture with the familiar's real look. When it's done, the sculpture is placed in the work area, facing the station. The photo isn't used up, so you can make as many sculptures from it as you like.
You can't change the familiars or the photo while the familiars are sculpting.
Sculptures
Sculptures are blocks that show the familiar exactly as it was in the photo, at the size it was made, always standing on the floor.
- They're solid, like the familiar's body.
- Breaking a sculpture drops it as an item, keeping everything about it. Axes break them faster.
- The item can be placed anywhere it fits, facing you, except in a sculpture station's reserved space.
